LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION with probate copy of the will (6 June 1786) and codicils annexed, of James Lord Baron of Caher. He leaves all his lands in Ireland to the Right Honourable Thomas Brown, esq., commonly called Lord Kenmare, of Ireland, Daniel MacNamara, of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, co. Middlesex, esq., Robert Butler of Ballyraggett, co. Kilkenny, and James Butler of Canowbone, co. Cork, esq., in trust, that they, after his death, dispose of sufficient of his lands to raise money to discharge his debts and pay the costs of several annuities and trusts created by him. He creates a trust in favour of his brother, the Honourable Pierce Butler, and after his death, in trust for his sons, and in default of such issue, in trust for his brother the Honourable John Butler, and in default of such issue, in trust for Richard Butler, eldest son of his kinsman James Butler, deceased, and his son, and in default of such issue, in trust for James Butler, second son of the said James Butler, deceased, and his sons, and in default of such issue in trust for James Butler his kinsman of Canowbone, and, after his death, in trust for John Butler, eldest son of the last named James Butler and his sons, and in default of such issue, in trust for Andrew Butler, second son of the last named James Butler and his sons, and in default of such issue, in trust for James Butler, third son of the last named James Butler and his sons, and in default of such issue, in trust successively for the rest of the sons of the last named James Butler, and in default of such issue to the testator’s right heirs. He gives permission for any one entitled to an Estate for Life and in possession, to lease any part of the land for a term not exceeding three lives or thirty one years, and to convey, settle or appoint any part of the estate to or to the use of any woman whom any one entitled to an Estate for Life, had married, or to any younger son. He leaves annual bequests of £1170. He names Thomas Lord Kenmare, Daniel McNamara, Robert Butler and James Butler as executors.
