LETTER: J.D. Griffith Davies at 2 Balmoral Terrace, Shaw Lane, Leeds 6 to Mrs. Wynn Finch at 11 Bruton Street, London W.1.. He thanks her for saying that she has enjoyed reading his biographical studies of Henry IV and Henry V and wonders if she has read his earlier life of Owen Glendower and informs her that he can supply her with one for 6s. postage paid. He says that there is some evidence for thinking that the castle was at or near Bodwrdda. He explains that the term ’castle’was used in a medieval document to mean a fortified manor house. He has passed on her query to a friend who is better informed that he is in these matters, and will let her know further in due course.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
