LETTER: Owen Roberts at Dinas to C.W.G. Wynne, esq. at Voelas, Pentrevoelas, Denbighshire. Griffith Griffiths has had another notice to pay the Crown rents and a threat of distraint if it is not immediately paid. O.R. has promised them an answer within a mouth, and feels they have been misled by G. G.. He encloses a note from Mr. Page which he feels might be of service in making an inquiry at the Woods and Forest. He has informed C.W.G.W.’s tenants and masters of vessels frequenting Porthinllaen Harbour that the Company have no legal rights to levy dues and that they ought not to be paid. No attempt has been made to disturb John Hughes’s stage since C.W.G.W. left Cefnamwlch. Rent day for Caernarfonshire estate is fixed for 4 January and he wishes to know how C.W.G.W. wishes the rents disposed of. Appended: EXTRACTS from Pugh’s note. Document defective: STAMP cut away.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
