LETTER: J. Roberts at Gwindy to John Griffith, esq. at Voelas. He has been negotiating setting the Bryncroes tithe to two millers in the neighbourhood who have bid £88 for the great tithe, and £17 for the small tithe and all parliamentary and parochial taxes. They are to have the lease of it for 6 years. Their bidding is £4 less than the last year’s setting and his demand is last year’s setting. He recommends that he sets it for the price they are offering. He has set the term at 6 years as the lease is for that duration. He requests his opinion on the subject He has had a fresh bidder for Nyffryn and he is to offer for it at Pwllheli Fair. He is the Castellmarch tenant and he wants it for his son. He wants it to be set before the hay harvest. He hopes they will see J.G. that summer. G. Jones wants Ffriddwen House for an overlooker for his land. He wishes to know if Hugh Jones can be put to Caer du until a small farm can be procured for him.
