Sitting on a chair in the front row (2nd from left) is William Iolen, originally of Bryn Pistyll, Pont Rhyddallt, Llanddeiniolen. William Iolen and two brothers emigrated to America where he became well known and successful as a mining engineer. Glasgoed farm was a refuge for many emigrants from Wales, particularly from Pont Rhyddallt and Llanddeiniolen.
