The old (now unused) weir across Afon Porthllwyd with the entrance into the Penstock leat in deep shadow. Note the mechanism of the old flood gate that lowered the water level in the river, when maintenance etc. was required at Penstock, or on the original pipeline. This leat still collects some surface water, which is now diverted into Coedty Reservoir. The summit of Penardda is on the left of the photo and on the right, the slopes of Moel Eilio. Photo taken at a period of low water in the river. 4 April 1980.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
