Edern: Mr. J. Samuel Jones of the Ship Inn, Edern, the licence of which has been in the same family for nearly 400 years, wearing the British Empire Medal awarded him by the Queen, for service as the only mail contractor in Wales. In the photograph he is being congratulated by Sir Michael Duff, Lord Lieutenant of the County. The presentation took place at the Pwllheli Head Post Office.
